Tutoring & Peer Learning

Academic Support provides supplemental instruction in group formats for select classes as Peer-Assisted Study Sessions (PASS), offers group and individual hours in the Quantitative Resource Center and the Language Resource Center, and provides several custom course-attached peer education options.

**Peer support of any kind is not a replacement for class time OR office hours with a faculty member.  Your faculty should be the FIRST stop when you need support, not a peer educator.**

  • Peer Assisted Study Sessions (PASS) are available in select courses, and students enrolled in those courses may use those scheduled sessions as frequently as needed.
  • All PASS schedules are available in  and visible to enrolled students, peer educators, and faculty.
  • LRC hours and access are also found in by students for supported courses. Students may use these resources as often as needed, both drop-in and scheduled appointments as space is available.
  • QRC hours are available through  for both drop-in time and scheduled appointments.
  • Modified peer education sessions, such as Course Mentors, that are attached to specific courses or areas of study can also be found in . Students in connected courses can view these resources and access them as often as available given parameters documented in Navigate.
  • Most peer education is designed to be in groups. Group learning is valuable in many fields and disciplines, and learning how to learn in groups and ask about what you don't know are important life skills that all students should work to develop.
