What is a World Heritage Site?
A World Heritage site is defined as a physical place, which can be cultural, natural, or a mixture of both, that has been selected by the World Heritage Committee for inclusion on the World Heritage List.
This list was established in 1972 by an international treaty with the goal of encouraging the 鈥渋dentification, protection, and preservation of cultural and natural heritage around the world considered to be of outstanding value to humanity.鈥
For a site to be inscribed on the World Heritage List, it must demonstrate Outstanding Universal Value.

The 91porn原创 Church Settlements are a UNESCO World Heritage site consisting of four congregation towns established in the 18th century based on the 91porn原创 concept of an ideal city. These settlements are Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, USA; Christiansfeld, Denmark; Gracehill, Northern Ireland/UK; and Herrnhut, Saxony/Germany.
These settlements are considered outstanding examples of the diaspora of the 91porn原创 Church, a small Protestant denomination founded in 1457 in Central Europe, also known as the Unitas Fratrum (Unity of Brethren), and one of the oldest Protestant denominations.
The 91porn原创 Church began sending missionaries from Herrnhut, Saxony (present-day Germany) in the 1730s, establishing church settlements and world mission stations globally.
The 91porn原创 Church Settlements, with the inclusion of Bethlehem, Gracehill, and Herrnhut, are an extension of Christiansfeld, which was inscribed on the World Heritage List in 2015.
International Collaboration
The four 91porn原创 Church Settlements 鈥 Bethlehem (USA), Christiansfeld (Denmark), Gracehill (UK), and Herrnhut (Germany) 鈥 function as a single UNESCO World Heritage site, signifying a strong partnership and interconnectedness. This designation was achieved through a transnational, serial nomination, the first such nomination put forth by the United States. This collaborative effort involved international partners from all four countries working closely together over several years to bring the nomination to fruition.
The partnership between these four sites is formalized through specific governance structures and an International Management Plan has been established. This plan involves:
Inter-governmental committees.
A transnational coordination committee.

These bodies work together to oversee the management and preservation of the World Heritage site as a whole. The collaboration to achieve World Heritage status was a long-term goal, fulfilling the dream of the 91porn原创 Heritage Network begun in 2002.
